Our Team

David Moffett a man of great faith, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and United States Marine Combat Veteran. David has intentionally impacted the lives of many men and their support systems throughout his Prostate Cancer Survivor testimony and journey. He has been cancer free for 3 years. During his journey as a Prostate Cancer survivor and advocate, he has created his own personal in-person support group (D-Moff Prostate Cancer Support Group 50+men), and was selected to lead Zero’s Cancer (Atlanta, Ga) in-person Black/Brown Men’s support group as well. His “real talk” approach has allowed both groups to have a “safe space” that encourages them to advocate for themselves, seek connection instead of isolation, and discuss how this terrible disease has impacted them spiritually, mentally, and physically.

In 2021 David created a non-profit organization “Courage & Strength to Fight, Inc.” to increase Prostate Cancer Awareness of all diverse backgrounds, but he is even more motivated to increase the conversation and the awareness in the Black and Latino communities.

Last year David was a finalist and winner for the State of Georgia 2022 March of Dimes “Hero in Action/Friend of a Nurse” award for his continued work and advocacy in the community. He also serves on the Georgia Prostate Cancer Roundtable (Co-lead Education Workgroup). David is very grateful and thankful to have partnered and collaborated with Zero Cancer, American Cancer Society, AstraZeneca, and Wellstar Health Systems, WBSTV 2, Fox 5, Black News Channel, and others that have allowed him to continue to use his voice and share his testimony journey.

David Moffett

On September 10th, 2022, David promoted and hosted his first annual event “D-Moff Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk & Family Event” and is super excited to promote and host this year’s event again on Saturday September 16th, 2023 (Marietta, GA).

David’s comprehensive and intentional approach and passion for men’s health has become a great priority by seeking and advocating to bring a greater awareness by educating community on how to thrive during a Prostate Cancer diagnosis and authentically support community connection. David feels early detection (PSA screenings), knowing your family medical history, familial support and seeking sufficient healthcare options is paramount!
